Established as a corporation in 1964, Hillside Gardens Ltd. has supplied quality produce for over 4 decades. Harry Verkaik, the founding president and father of current president Jim Verkaik, began farming in the rich muck soils of the Holland Marsh in 1935, after the land was drained and made available for sale. His passion and vision for growing high quality produce has survived the decades, and still forms the basis of our model for future growth.
